It’s done. I’m not the first, last, fastest, slowest or most bonkers person to do it but I do have a sense of acheiveing something that not all that many people have done. I’ve shared an experience with the kids that will be with them for a few years yet. How many 14 year olds have done a 1200 mile road trip on a motorcycle? How many 11 year olds have been on the back of a bike let alone done a 630 mile round trip to Lands End in less than 36 hours? How many adults even can say that? The bike made it, no real dramas, just like everyone told me it would.
If I was to do it again, I’d take a bit longer. I read somewhere that you can do 1000 miles and see nothing, do a hundred and see everything, and thats true. Having done the long way up and down, I’d probably stick a little closer to home and see some stuff closer up rather than at 80mph from the motorway, craning my neck like PcMcGarry.
The best bits? Glencoe, then the seals at Cromarty Firth, then the burping competition!
The worst bits? Just getting out of Cornwall.
